About Me

“I love people. I love them, I think, as a stamp collector loves his collection. Every story, every incident, every bit of conversation is raw material for me. My love’s not impersonal yet not wholly subjective either. I would like to be everyone, a cripple, a dying man, a whore, and then come back to write about my thoughts, my emotions, as that person. But I am not omniscient. I have to live my life, and it is the only one I’ll ever have.” – Sylvia Plath

I am a(n):

-assistant editor at 5280 magazine, the city/regional magazine in the Denver area

-University of Maryland alumna with degrees in journalism and government and politics

-Michigan native with a penchant for college football, vacations “up north,” and pointing to my hand to show where I’m from

-pescatarian, cookbook collector, book lover, occasional runner, human rights advocate, wide-eyed learner, overall nerd, and frequent abuser of caps lock

But most of all, I’m a writer.
